There are total 20 clubs. The league system is Double Round Score System. (Double Round Score System: Each Club shall play 2 League Matches against each other Club each Season, being the Home and Visiting Club in respect of each such League Match. The winner of a League Match shall score three points while the loser scores zero point. Each Club participating in a League Match which is drawn shall score one point. The position of Clubs in the table shall be determined by the number of points scored in that Season. If any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the table shall be determined on goal difference.

In addition, the bottom 3 Clubs in the table at the end of the Season shall be relegated from the French Le Championnat. The top 3 Clubs in French Division 2 shall upgrade to French Le Championnat.
